    Rainbow Compass Mentorship Program

The Rainbow Compass Mentorship Program is back up and running for the Fall 2020 – Spring 2021 semester. The program aims to create a structured and trusting relationship between pairs of graduate and undergraduate LBGTQ+ MIT students (mentees) together with caring LBGTQ+ faculty/staff/alumnx (mentors). The goal is to create a professional relationship where mentors provide guidance and encouragement while supporting the personal and professional development of the mentees through various matters.

    • Any MIT student can sign up to participate for the monthly craft session. Students must sign up by September 30th at 5pm EST. On October 1st, we will use a randomizer to select 15 students from the list of sign-ups to participate. The selected students will be asked to fill out an additional form with an address or post box where they can receive a craft kit. The craft kits will be sent out the first week of October. On the last Wednesday of the month (October 28th, between 5 and 7pm EST)  an LBGTQ+ graduate assistant, Nina Foushee, will facilitate a crafting session on Zoom. In October we will be drawing together. This will be a fun, relaxed opportunity for conversation, bonding, and building community. Students who are not selected to participate one month are welcome to sign up for future months. Crafterday Corner is open to all LBGTQ+ MIT students and allies.
