QLAB: Queer & LBGT Advisory Board
On pause for now!

QLAB is an open meeting seeking to enhance the experiences of LBGTQ+ people at MIT and to ensure that its educational mission is upheld for all students of diverse gender, romantic, and sexual identities. Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month in The SPXCE (Social Justice Programming and Cross-Cultural Engagement) Intercultural Center and address specific LBGTQ+ community projects. Anyone affiliated with MIT and LBGTQ-affirming is welcome to join and participate!

Lazos: A Place at the Table for TQPOC & Allies of Color
Every third Wednesday of the month.

Lazo is one of several Spanish language terms for "bow", referencing the latter half of "rainbow" as well as the identities and experiences that tie us together within and across our communities. Claim your place at the table to kiki with other trans and queer people of color (TQPOC) and allies of color who work to bring an open-minded, caring, and respectful sense of community to MIT. Students, staff, postdocs, and faculty are welcome. We look forward to seeing you! To join the TQPOC mailing list, or for more information about this and other events for trans and queer students of color, contact Lauryn McNair at lmcnair@mit.edu.

Family Dinners

Every Thursday in the Spring

Each spring we host a dinner event for the LBGTQ+ and allying communities called Family Dinner, a reclaiming of a sense of belonging when some of us may not feel so welcome at home. Focusing on chosen family, affirmation, and togetherness, all affirming MIT-affiliates of diverse gender, romantic, and sexual identities at MIT are welcome!
